IWSS provides free, confidential and culturally safe support for women, children and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds who have experienced domestic, family or sexual violence. Our support is feminist, trauma informed and client centred. We work with clients to increase safety, strengthen wellbeing and support their right to live free from violence.

How We Can Help
IWSS provides support at every stage of your journey. This includes crisis assistance, ongoing case management, counselling, advocacy and community education. Our practitioners understand the impact of trauma and how culture, migration and community pressures influence safety and decision making.

Crisis Support
If you are in danger or need urgent help outside our hours, call 000 or DVConnect on 1800 811 811.
Our crisis support is available Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm.

Case Management Support
We help you navigate services such as housing, legal assistance, health care, income support and safety planning. Support is tailored to your needs and circumstances.

Counselling
Trauma informed counselling is available to discuss your experiences, explore options and strengthen emotional safety. Sessions are confidential and respectful.

Support for Children and Young People
We help support the safety and wellbeing of children and young people who have been impacted by violence. Support includes information, referrals and guidance for parents and caregivers.

We provide education sessions for community groups wanting to learn about domestic, family and sexual violence, Australian law and available support.

We support service providers to work in culturally responsive and inclusive ways. Resources and training are available on domestic, family and sexual violence in migrant and refugee communities.

Taking the first step can feel hard. When you contact IWSS, you will speak with a worker who understands the impact of violence, trauma, culture and migration.
You can expect us to:
